Admission Guidelines

Assam down town University (AdtU), through its Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), is committed to providing accessible, inclusive, and flexible higher education to a diverse body of learners across India and abroad. The admission policy is designed to uphold academic standards while promoting equal opportunities for all eligible candidates.

Eligibility Criteria

Admissions to online and distance programmes are granted based on minimum academic qualifications:

  • Undergraduate Programmes: Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board.
  • Postgraduate Programmes: Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in the relevant field from a recognized university.

Admission Cycle

  • The academic calendar includes two admission cycles annually—in January and August.
  • Programme commencement dates and schedules are shared with applicants upon confirmation of enrollment.

Selection Process

  • Admissions are merit-based, evaluated on the basis of submitted academic credentials.
  • The university reserves the right to verify the authenticity of submitted documents.

Application Process

  • Applications can be submitted online through the official AdtU website.
  • Required documents include:
    • Academic certificates and mark sheets
    • Photo ID proof
    • Recent passport-size photograph
    • Migration/Transfer certificate (if applicable)

Fee Structure

  • A non-refundable registration fee is applicable at the time of application.
  • Tuition fees may be paid in lump sum or through installment plans as per university guidelines.
  • Fee concessions and scholarships are available based on merit or specific criteria (such as socio-economic background or region).

Reservation Regulation

AdtU follows an inclusive admission approach, and while distance mode admissions are largely open, special consideration is given to underrepresented regions, working professionals, women learners, and international applicants.

Cancellation and Refund

  • In case of withdrawal before course commencement, partial refunds may be considered as per UGC norms.
  • No refunds are permitted after enrollment confirmation and access to learning resources.

International Admissions

  • International students are welcome and must provide equivalent academic qualifications recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
